Automobiles need protection for the flat portions of the finish immediately after production. With increasing temperatures they are highly susceptible to damage from atmospheric pollution.
Chemical spotting (acid rain) may be caused by organic or inorganic matter. Bird droppings, bee droppings and tree sap can cause damage in 24 to 48 hours as the outside temperature increases. Rain, snow, fog or dry particles that contain solutions of sulfric or nitric acid (caused by pollution emissions of sulfer dioxide as well as oxides of nitrogen) will do great damage to the painted finish especially in warmer conditions. The sooner neutralization starts the more successful it will be.
